Sixty-eight students from Bates College's spring sports teams have received All-Academic honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (raised from 3.40 a year ago).

Commencement 2019

The Class of 2019 graduated on Sunday, May 26, in a ceremony concluding the College's 207th year. Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, delivered the Commencement address, advising graduates to "keep asking the hard questions and keep thinking of things we've not thought about - about social justice and inequality and seeking the truth." Hamilton's 490 graduates now join an alumni body of more than 23,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.

Allegra Grant of Women's Hockey Earns All-American Honors

Goaltender Allegra Grant of the Wesleyan women's ice hockey team was named to the All-American East Second Team, as selected by the members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and announced by the AHCA office at the Frozen Four banquet on March 15. This is the first All-American accolade for the Wesleyan women's ice hockey team, as Grant was one of 25 hockey players selected for this honor.
